Rugby's new youth theatre that focuses on acting
The brand new place for aspiring actors
We believe the arts make a town richer, and we want the young people of Rugby to get in on the act. In the Round Theatre is the brand new youth theatre providing weekly actor workshops for young aspiring actors.
Join us for a free taster session
Every participant is invited to a free taster session. This gives you a chance to try us out and us a chance to see if you have what we are looking for. Previous experience is not necessary as we are more interested in those that have the right attitude. After the taster session, if you are offered a place, we will ask you to pay the term’s fees to secure your place.
“Working with the young actors of In the Round Theatre was a delight. They are an energetic, imaginative company who are willing to try anything. Big and bold and funny comes naturally to many of them but I found they were also able to take on some new ideas about acting and to work with truth and subtlety. Their energy is infectious.
The group is led by Rob and Darren who are inspirational with their dynamism and passion for their work. There is huge potential in the group and the possibility of building a really interesting company who could contribute significantly to theatre life in Rugby.
This is group’s first year and I look forward to seeing them again. There could be some stars in the making!”

Who we are
Our passion for the craft of acting lead us to form In the Round Theatre, a place where Rugby-based youngsters can learn, develop and hone their acting skills, through weekly actor workshops, in a fun, safe and playful environment.
We are a non-profit making organisation, set up in 2021 to focus purely on stage craft and acting skills, run by volunteers Robert Sloan and Darren Pratt. In the Round Theatre is a member of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) and the National Association of Youth Theatres (NAYT).
With over 50 years of combined theatrical and acting experience, we felt compelled to create an environment where we could share our experience of the life changing power of theatre with the young people of Rugby, regardless of background or experience.
"The number-one rule of acting is, 'Do not seek approval from the audience.' People don't realize that. You can't do stuff to get applause. You have to live in the truth."

In the Round Theatre is affiliated with a number of organisations, on a local and national level.
Warwickshire County Council
We are working with Warwickshire County Council to ensure we have excellent child safeguarding practises in place, including enhanced DBS checks for all adults working with young people.
National Association of Youth Theatres
We are delighted to be members of the National Association of Youth Theatres (NAYT), an educational charity working with over 1,300 groups and individuals to support the development of young people through excellent youth theatre.
