A Midsummer Night's Dream
By William Shakespeare
Old Big School, Rugby School, June 2025
As party of Rugby School's Shakespeare festival, we performed A Midsummer Night's Dream in traverse at Old Big School.
When the law of the land is preventing you from marrying the love of your life, there seems only one choice – to escape to a magical forest. Little do you know, at the heart of that forest, lies a King and Queen of the fairies who are very much at war. Oh, and a group of amateur actors hell-bent on rehearsing a play.
The course of true love never did run smooth.
In the Round Theatre, Rugby’s local youth theatre return to Rugby School to present this innovative new immersive production with an 80s style makeover.
You’re all invited this midsummer, to escape with us into the forest of dreams…

A Christmas Carol
Adapted from the Charles Dickens novel by Robert Sloan
Rugby Theatre, Dec 2024
In December 2024, we collaborated with our friends at Rugby Theatre and staged Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. This bold new adaptation was written by In the Round Theatre founder Robert Sloan and directed by both founders, Robert Sloan and Darren Pratt.
Actors from In the Round Theatre joined Rugby Theatre actors onstage in festive (and sold out) 10-show-run.

Orchestra
By Charlie Josephine
Macready Theatre and Royal & Derngate, April 2024
Performed at Macready Theatre, 11th April and then at Royal & Derngate, 20th April 2024 as part of the National Theatre Connections programme.
A group of young people meet in a smelly church hall to rehearse in half term. They are the National Youth Wind Orchestra and they are rehearsing for the performance of their lives. A euphoric roller-coaster ride of joy, Orchestra looks the cost of success and if striving for artistic excellence and wanting to always be the best, is worth the cost of losing your passion.

Old Times
By Molly Taylor
Macready Theatre and Derby Theatre, Mar -April 2023
Performed at Macready Theatre, 29th March and then at Derby Theatre, 23rd Aprill 2023, as part of the National Theatre's Connections programme.
When they were kids, everyone loved Tom Joy. He brought the fun to any situation. He would be the first to crack a joke, the first to take on a dare…and the first to take things a little too far.
Five years on and Tom Joy is back. But this time, the friends have to wrestle with their guilt, from the lies they told the grown-ups, and of the story they created, that ultimately sent their best friend to prison.

A Christmas Carol (Devised)
Devised by members of In the Round Theatre
John Lees Hall, Dec 2022
Our very first production at In the Round was a devised version of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol.
We are incredibly fond of this show, as it was staged on an absolute shoe string budget, in the round and of course, it was our fist ever show.
